If I could describe in three words it would be vibrant, inclusive and exciting. There is something going on at British Airways all the time such as recent Diwali celebrations in our headquarters and even a visit from dragon dancers for Chinese New Year. I think that our internal intranet and regular colleague magazine provides very useful information what is going on in the business and details of opportunities that you can get involved with outside of your day to day role if you would like to, for example, I raised money for our charity Flying Start by running at 10k in Run Gatwick. The business is keen to protect the wellbeing of its employees and provides various platforms for colleagues to support wellbeing including free regular health checks.

I fully agree with Charlotte's comments and I'd say we work in a thriving and exciting business where no two days are the same. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do and we're working hard to create an inclusive and collaborative culture, which is supercharged through our colleague networks. Our intranet and quarterly colleague magazines provide insight into what's happening across the business, and we also send out a weekly digest of the latest news from across British Airways. As Charlotte mentioned there are so many things you can get involved in from raising money for Flying Start - our charity partnership with Comic Relief, to spending the day volunteering in the local area or simply holding a bake sale amongst your team.

British Airways are also committed to the ongoing learning and development of its people and you'll find hundreds of courses available via our e-learning platform to help broaden your knowledge and enhance your skillset. We've also recently launched a partnership with Unmind, giving colleagues access to a wealth of useful resources, amongst many other partnerships.

Captain

From a pilots perspective, it is an ever changing work environment as we are flying with new colleagues on a regular basis and to different airports that all have different set ups. As an individual, I feel that we can influence the day to day enjoyment by being positive and professional. As a Captain, I like to get to know everyone and make people feel valued. Being an effective team makes the day better, and being open and friendly hopefully breaks down any barriers of the flight deck door. While in a large company like ours there are always challenges, it feels to me that our management is positively focusing on improving customer care and supporting colleagues.

I would describe our working environment as transformational, collaborative & fast paced. The opportunities that arise from being in a world renowned company like British Airways are astounding, and you really can be involved in initiatives that are far reaching outside of your day to day role. There is a mutual understanding that we are all working towards one goal and that the success of British Airways is why we do what we do. British Airways embodies a caring environment, I have regular 1-1's with my line manager to not only discuss personal development but to also discuss how I am, and how I am coping with work load etc. Having a transparent environment where you can be open, honest and feel appreciated has been amazing. There are plenty of road shows that pop up on a regular basis, whether that be mental health summits, or body health checks to really support every aspect of life. As well as this we have a variety of colleague networks, such as Flying Proud, MusBA & Being Accessible to name a few.
