Hi there, thanks for your question. As part of our pre-employment checks and depending on the individual role, we usually ask for either two or five years worth of previous employment and/or educational references. I hope this information helps, let us know if you have any further questions.

I would agree with Benedict's comment. Each role may have varying reference requirements depending on the security requirements of the role. But generally it can be anything from 2-5 years previous employment or education history. Recruitment would confirm what the requirements are for your individual application, so please do reach out to them with your question for the role you are applying for.

Hi Tracy, former colleagues should ask the company requesting the reference to email [email protected], clearly stating that an employment reference is required. To avoid delays, they should include the full name, staff number and National Insurance number, plus their postal address and telephone number. Hope this helps!

Sorry I sent an email to this email address above as it was also quoted in my leavers letter from 2021 but I received a postmaster delivery failure. Has the email changed?
