I wanted to work at British Airways because I have been interested in aviation since being a child when I would fly with British Airways from Manchester to London for my birthday with family. British Airways is also a very recognisable brand which makes me proud to work here, and the work culture which is very diverse and inclusive was another huge attraction for me.

As a world renowned prestigious airline, it was always a dream to work for British Airways. I have always worked in travel and have admired British Airways as a brand throughout my career. And this feeling was confirmed when I started working here. I feel extremely lucky to be part of this company, on my first day walking into the Waterside office, it was quite an awe inspiring experience. The environment you are in, the experiences you get given and the people you can learn from that have so much knowledge to share really do make the difference.

Talent Manager - BA Digital
Before joining British Airways as a Tech Recruiter, I made sure to thoroughly research the company and its initiatives. I was particularly drawn to British Airways' involvement in some of the most challenging and impactful technology projects in the industry. The work here goes beyond just keeping the airline operational; it’s about revolutionising the travel experience. British Airways' technology initiatives aim to enhance passenger satisfaction, optimise operations, and leverage data and AI in ways that set the company apart. The scale and impact of these projects, affecting millions of people worldwide, made me eager to play a part by recruiting the right talent to drive these innovations forward.
Another important factor in my decision was British Airways’ strong reputation for fostering an inclusive and supportive working environment. The company not only values diversity but also actively encourages career development across the organisation. There is a wide range of opportunities here, whether you’re looking to deepen your expertise in technology or explore new areas within the airline, British Airways provides the flexibility and support to make those transitions. Additionally, British Airways' investment in up-skilling and developing its staff ensures that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential, which is reflected in the company’s impressive retention rates. It’s clear that people are happy here, and it’s easy to see why.
The competitive remuneration, along with the outstanding travel perks and the modern, well-equipped office environment, were also major draws for me. These benefits make British Airways not only a great place to develop your career but also a fantastic place to work on a day-to-day basis.
Having been with British Airways for 18 months now, I can confidently say that all of these expectations have been met. The projects are both challenging and rewarding, the culture is genuinely inclusive, and the opportunities for growth are extensive. It has been the most fulfilling experience of my career, and I’m excited about the future here. I look forward to many more years of contributing to British Airways’ success and being part of a team that’s making a real difference in the industry.

Candidate Engagement Product Owner
I wanted to work for a well-known brand that values its employees and leaves a lasting positive impact, even after they've moved on. I’m surrounded by a network of former British Airways colleagues who have worked here for 20, 30, and even 40 years, and they all speak highly of their experience. I'm proud to say I work at British Airways, and this pride is shared across the organisation.

Cabin Crew
In broad sense, I wanted to work at British Airways because it is a reputable brand recognised the world over, with an illustrious and renowned history and an equally exciting future. I believe your job forms an important part of your identity, so I wanted to be a part of a company I could be proud to say I work for - and British Airways is certainly that!
Specifically, I wanted a role that would be exciting and take me all over the world, but also one where I could meet different people and have memorable experiences.
I also wanted a career with potential, and from researching the airline beforehand I knew there was an abundance of opportunity here. Many of my friends have either progressed in the role of cabin crew or moved into another area of the business entirely. Since joining the airline, I have done a secondment, combined my role with cabin crew training and done some volunteering work in local schools.

Customer Dispute Resolution Executive
One of the reasons I wanted to work for British Airways was despite it being a large institution with thousands of employees, you don't get lost in the crowd because you work in small teams. The legal department in particular where I work has a small team of less than thirty colleagues and everyone is accessible and there to assist you if you need it. It also makes collegial working environment easy to achieve as well as having socials within the team to celebrate each other in their career and personal life achievements.
