Hi Annabelle,

Like all large companies, British Airways has a wide range of lengths of service among employees. From people who stay, for a variety of reasons, only a few months, right up to very long serving members of staff who have been with British Airways for over half a century. The current average length of service for colleagues is over 10 years.

Regards,

Ken

Hi Annabelle, within my department Revenue Management, there are colleagues that have been with British Airways for over 40 years, but there are also lots of new faces that have joined since we have started building back from the Pandemic. I think British Airways is successful at retaining staff as there is a positive culture around applying for internal jobs that interest you, and the process to do this is fairly seamless too. I feel I can have open conversations with my manager on what my interests and career progression looks like, and if there are any internal jobs that I am interested in, I know I have the support from my Manager to steer my career in the direction I want. I think this makes for a success when retaining staff, as this openness and support allows people to move around internally and retain the knowledge that was already built at British Airways.

Hello Annabelle. Thanks for the question. At British Airways we pride ourselves on our long history and this is no exception for our colleagues at British Airways. We have many colleagues where they celebrate long service awards of 35, 45 or even 55 years or more. We are very proud of this and the colleagues that celebrate this long history with us.
