Additional information

Hi, I am dual licensed SACAA & UKCAA fATPL holder, I also hold a valid APS MCC and FI rating. (<600hour TT, no jet experience) Are there any flight crew positions available, or will employment be at all possible? I am unable to pay for a full TR privately. Many thanks! This would be a dream!

Hi Lee.

Our current opportunity for low hour pilots requires you to have an A320 Type Rating and to have passed base training. I am uncertain how long this campaign will be open but we will have other opportunities at various times. They generally require a minimum of 100 sectors or 500 hours on an aircraft that meets CS-25 specifications, but each campaign has its own eligibility requirements.

I hope this information is helpful.

Best wishes

Hey Lee -

Getting your UK licence is definitely a huge step and a big part of the way! Sadly, there are no positions that you are eligible for but new campaigns open up all the time. The Speedbird Self-Sponsored Pathway is closed and I believe the Newly Qualified Pilot campaign was open a couple of years ago for positions at our London City base with Cityflyer. It would depend on the type of hours you have, but it sounds like you would have been eligible for at least one of these campaigns.

I do hope these types of campaigns will reopen at some point in the future, for you and for a lot of those in a similar position. It's hard to catch a break sometimes in this career path, but please do keep trying.

Keep an eye on our careers page and sign up for job alerts if you haven't already Search our Job Opportunities at British Airways (bottom of the page).

I really hope you are able to find a way here sometime soon.
