What steps can I take now in order to give myself the best chance to be selected for (MPL) Cadet Programme?

As someone with no experience, I would like to gain more information on giving myself the best chance at securing a spot in the program in January 2025. Are there events I can attend or anything that will further my chances of allowing me to succeed in the application process?
