Additional information

I am due to start in the early stages of June 2025 and was unsure if the ess set up would be part of the first week administration stages or whether it was required to be set up prior to arrival. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi Lewis, from experience you should get your IT equipment and log in details on your first day of joining and that is when you will be able to access ESS. If you feel like there is something on ESS you need to access before you join then i would reach out to the hiring manager to discuss. However you will be able to update payroll details etc on your first day, hope this helps :)

Hi Lewis,

When a new starter begins work, their manager will confirm that they have arrived which will set off some automated processes that update other systems including ESS and the Pay Portal where bank details can be submitted and FAQs where P45 can be attached. As the updates happen overnight, they can take a couple of days to feed through everywhere.
