Hi -

You can find all the Academy benefits at Speedbird Pilot Academy Preparation; accommodation, food or food allowance depending on chosen school and the groundschool and flying training will all be included. We would love to think all our cadets would stay with British Airways for the entirety of their careers, most do! However, should the cadet decide to part ways with the company, they would be able to do so without a financial penalty after five years of service.

Personally, I love my job and British Airways is a great fit for me. I started as a cadet on the previous Future Pilot Programme back in Summer 2012, joining the company in Spring 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The flexible working and the route network is fantastic but it's my colleagues that are my favourite part of working for British Airways.

Good luck if you decide you would like to apply to a future intake of our Speedbird Pilot Academy, maybe we'll fly together one day :)

Hello Tushar -

Of course! Our next Zoom webinar will be held in August and you find more information using this link: British Airways Pilot Recruitment. We have pilots attend Pilot Careers Live and would also suggest attending an open day at one of our partner Airline Training Organisations, FTE or Skyborne.

I am sure you will able to get the answers to the questions you have with one of the above methods:)

Tushar M.

Thanks for this....can I ask any type of questions related to the cadet pilot program in my mind? And they shall help me clear them.

And also, the Speedbird Pilot Program for fully funded cadet scholarship program states that students internationally must have "legally and lawfully right to live in the UK and work there"....wdym by this? Can this thing be achieved by Student Visa/Tourist Visa because apart from that I have no ancestry visa, or citizenship or any work visa?? Huh?? I got to get in contact with an EX BA PILOT and she said me that student visa isn't supported?? Huh???

Hello Tushar -

Unfortunately, if you do not have the right to work in the UK you would not be eligible for the Academy. You would need to contact the UK Home Office about this as it is not something we can advise on I'm afraid.

All the best in your pursuit!

Tushar M.

Can you guide me on how to contact the UK Home Office....also I am afraid that the right can be obtained by Student Visa and followed by then Work visa? However, I shall ask the Home office of the academy...just let me know how?

Hi Tushar -

Student or work visas would typically not be accepted as they would not last long enough for the training and initial years of employment, they require sponsorship which British Airways cannot provide.

This unfortunately is not something I know anything about, but you can visit the UK Home Office webpage, hopefully they will be able to answer any questions you might have Contact UK Visas and Immigration for help - GOV.UK.

Best of luck,

Chloe
