Pravin N.
HR Associate
As I joined initially as a HR Administrator on a temporary basis, my general expectations were just to manage emails and colleague records as well as arrange 1to1s. I anticipated being the go-to person for day-to-day operational support within the HR team. As I was determined to continuously develop into the team, I then started started working closely with HR Business Partners and the Head of People where I became more involved with strategic HR initiatives. When offered the permanent HR Associate role, my expectations had a greater focus on handling more substantial tasks. I anticipated diving deeper into data analysis, contributing to decision-making processes, and being involved in more strategic projects alongside the HR team.

Within my first month at British Airways I was just learning the ropes, it meant meeting with lots of different teams to find out what they do and how I would work with them in the future within my role. It also involved online training, both the mandatory British Airways training modules and more specific revenue management packs. There was lots to take on board for my role as it covers the whole of global revenue management, so learning about the different teams and how they all work differently took a lot of time. I would say it took a good 6 months to find my feet and comfortably know most of what I needed to. Although as with the nature of transformation, I am still finding out new things on a daily basis, so it is a role where I will be constantly learning and pushing boundaries.
