What is the best part of your job and what is the part you like the least?

Personally I love the variety of the work and this would go for both long-haul and short-haul. Each day is different, different destinations, different weather conditions, different crews, just to name a few. It really keeps the job interesting and you get what you make of it. The people that you meet, crew, ground staff, even to some extent, hearing the same familiar voice on the radio in Air Traffic Control, you can sense a real feeling of togetherness.

It can be tough if you're one for routine - living out of a suitcase, in and out of hotels, early mornings, late finishes, possibly jet lag, however this does tie into the above. Being able to see the positive in these things, making an effort to socialise or getting adequate rest when on days off really helps. You do have the option to bid for the work you want, so can tailor your schedule to some extent, to favour the places or start times that you prefer.
