Cabin Crew

Hi, thanks for your question.

We typically recruit for Cabin Crew annually. This can change from time to time, dependent on the resource required, so we don't always have advanced notice.

If you sign up to job alerts here:

https://apply.ba.com/jobs/alertregister/?alerts=1

you will be first to know when the recruitment window opens for 2025.

If you have a specific question about the role do get back in touch!

Hello Dan, I am waiting for Heathrow Cabin Crew too. Are we able to apply for Gatwick Euroflyer and then transfer to Heathrow? If that's the case, do we have to complete training and then work within Euroflyer for a period of time (how long) or can we transfer at any point even within the training period for Euroflyer? Thanks in advance.

Hi David, thanks for your question.

You can of course apply to Gatwick Euroflyer, but, if successful, you would need to complete two years’ service before being eligible to transfer to Heathrow Cabin Crew fleet.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi! After you have flown euroflyer for 2 years can you be transferred to main cabin crew? Or do you have to go through the interview and assessment process again? Or is it a conversation you have with management?

Hello,

Thanks for your question.

We have an internal pathway set up, meaning once you complete two years’ service you will be eligible to transfer. You would initiate this conversation with your manager, who will then work through current transfer options available (this will be dependant on course availability of the fleet you wish to transfer to). You will then have a brief motivational interview and, all being well, you will transfer on to an available internal course.

I hope that answers your question. 😊

Thanks,

Dan

Hello,

Thank you for your question. British Airways recruits cabin crew based on operational needs, so recruitment campaigns for cabin crew at Heathrow will open in the future as the business requires. You can register for job alerts on their careers website, which will notify you as soon as a recruitment campaign for cabin crew goes live. Keep an eye out for updates!

Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions around the role of cabin crew with British Airways 🙂

Hello, is there much difference between being based at Heathrow or Gatwick, does one do more long haul than the other? And do the destinations vary much?

Thank you

Cabin Crew

Hello Savannah,

Thanks for your question.

I have provided a brief overview below but I would suggest checking out our Cabin Crew FAQ page as this has a lot more information on each fleet.

https://careers.ba.com/cabin-crew-faqs
https://careers.ba.com/cabin-crew

Heathrow Cabin Crew

Heathrow Cabin Crew operate both long and short haul flights covering an extensive route network worldwide. Heathrow is our largest Cabin Crew Fleet, so you don’t often fly with the same person twice.

A typical roster will include a combination of trips. For example: a two sector (there and back) to Manchester, a night stop in Rome, a three-day trip to New York, a six-day trip to Rio or even a Nine-day trip to Singapore and Sydney.

Gatwick - BA Euroflyer - Short Haul

At Gatwick, there is a short haul fleet called Euroflyer. They don’t night stop and operate short haul flights only - great if you want to be home every night and be free from jet lag!

Gatwick Long Haul

There is also a Gatwick Long Haul fleet, which is separate from BA Euroflyer and is sometimes referred to as ‘beach fleet’. This is because they operate to a lot of leisure-type destinations. As an example, these include St Lucia, Mauritius, Cancun, but they also operate to other long haul destinations around the world, such as Bangkok, Cape Town and New York.

Gatwick is a much smaller fleet. They don’t have as many destinations as Heathrow, but you do have the advantage of working with the same people much more often.

I’d suggest visiting BA.com if you’d like to see our entire route network from both Heathrow and Gatwick.

If you have any other questions do get back in touch, otherwise I hope that helps 😊

Savannah S.

Thank you for your reply, is it possible to move fleets if I was to apply for one or the other then change my mind. And do you normally take on more at Heathrow or Gatwick?

Also do you have to be 18 at the time of application or can you be 17 as long as your 18 by the time of training?

Thank you

Cabin Crew

Hello Savannah,

Thank you again for your question 😊

BA Euroflyer has an internal pathway set up whereby once you’ve completed two years’ service, it is possible (operation dependent) to transfer to another fleet.

However, with other fleets it is not always that simple. You would essentially need to leave your current role and apply for the new fleet you want when it’s advertised. You would also need to go through another assessment process again. My advice would be to apply for the fleet you want from the start, even if it means you have to wait a little longer for a recruitment window to open.

We tend to need more Cabin Crew for Heathrow simply because it’s a much larger fleet. However, that all depends on our operational requirement at the time.

In regards to age at assessment, you must be 18 to apply for a Cabin Crew role at British Airways.

Do sign up to British Airways Job Alerts - that way you’ll be first to know when we recruit. Our recruitment windows don’t stay open very long as we often have a lot of interest, so do get you application completed asap.
