Hello Phoebe,

Thanks for your question! To become Cabin Crew with British Airways, you’ll need to apply via our official careers site when recruitment opens:

https://careers.ba.com

Here’s a quick overview of the process:

1. Check the Requirements

Before applying, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria:

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Ability to reach 2.01m on a functionality check
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Tattoos and piercings must not be visible when wearing the uniform
  • Able to swim 25 metres unaided

A previous people-centred / customer service role may support your application.

2. Submit Your Online Application

When applications open, complete the online form - we don’t accept CVs directly.

3. Assessment Process

If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an assessment day at our training centre. This may include:

  • Group exercises
  • Role-play scenarios
  • A short interview
  • A functionality check (height reach test)

4. Training

If successful, you’ll complete our training programme, covering safety, service, and first aid, before joining the team.

Since Cabin Crew recruitment is very popular, we recommend signing up for job alerts so you’re notified the moment roles become available:

I hope that helps. If you have any further questions do let me know 😊

Is it best to apply for BA flyer vacancies first opposed to Heathrow or Gatwick cabin crew jobs.

Hello Bryan,

Thanks for your question. Yes, New Entrant Cabin Crew are paid during their training period, and this applies regardless of whether you successfully complete the course or not.

I hope that helps 😊

Cabin Crew

Hi Phoebe,

Thanks for your question. It really depends on what you are looking for from the role. BA Euroflyer Cabin Crew roles are based at London Gatwick and operate exclusively on our short-haul European network. This means no nightstops and you’ll return to Gatwick after each duty. BA Euroflyer can be a great fit if you’d like to experience life as Cabin Crew but are not yet ready to commit to worldwide flying or longer trips away from home.

By comparison, mainline British Airways Cabin Crew roles at both Heathrow and Gatwick operate on routes that can include nightstops around the world and longer trips away from home. Gatwick mainline operates on our long-haul network only, whereas Heathrow mainline includes a mix of short-haul and long-haul flying.

Neither option is better. It’s about what suits your lifestyle and career goals best. If you prefer being home every night and focusing on European destinations, Euroflyer could be ideal. If you’d like to experience long-haul flying and a wider variety of trips, a mainline role may be a better fit.
