Will BA sponsor a Skilled Worker visa and accept an FAA ATPL if I start UK Part-FCL conversion after an offer?
Additional information
I’m a U.S. First Officer with an FAA ATPL, 1,500+ hrs and current E175 type rating. Will BA sponsor a UK Skilled Worker visa and accept my application if I start the UK Part-FCL ATPL conversion only after receiving a conditional offer?

Hi Mark.
We do accept applications from FAA ATPL holders, however we would require you to have a UK licence prior to getting a contract at British Airways. If you are required to sit UK ATPL theory exams we ask that you complete 50 percent of these prior to a simulator assessment.
If you are successful in your assessments we can sponsor a UK Skilled Worker visa.
I hope this helps your planning. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Max -
For our DEC and mainline positions, a visa can be sponsored for you. However, it is not a skilled worker visa, I believe it comes under the Senior or Specialist Worker visa under the Global Business Mobility Scheme, therefore the salary thresholds are a little different Senior or Specialist Worker visa (Global Business Mobility): Overview - GOV.UK
If you do not hold a UK licence, you will need to have started the conversion process in order to progress past certain stages. You can apply without the UK licence, but assuming you would not be eligible for UK ATPL groundschool examination credits, you would need to complete 50% of these before being invited to a simulator assessment. Should you have completed these exams and passed the simulator assessment, you would need your UK ATPL in hand before an offer was made.
Any questions regarding eligibility for theory exam credits and conversion routes that apply to you must be directed to the UK CAA. You can email [email protected] with the relevant information and put British Airways Application as the subject if you need more support.
I hope that I have helped.
