Hello,
Thanks for your question.
Our work experience programmes or insight days are for students in year 9 and above. However, we do have a dedicated work experience website, where students can complete a range of online activities around the aviation industry you might find useful.
Please see our work experience website below and sign up to Speedbird Z to complete activities.

I hope that helps.
Dan 😊

Hi
If your son is keen on being a pilot there are lots of things you can do. Visits to airfields and airshows can be great fun and if you have a local airfield you may be able to arrange to visit the air traffic control tower. You could consider the Air Cadets as he gets a bit older as there are often flying and gliding opportunities. Again, as he gets older, he may be able to get a job at a local flying school which will also give a great insight. As Dan mentioned we have work experience opportunities, but not until year 9. It is worth having a look at Speedbird Z for information.
Any activity he does that builds his skill set will be beneficial. Some areas we look at are decision making, teamwork and leadership, communication and workload management which can be developed in many activities. Computer games can also help build multi tasking and spatial awareness skills!
I hope this helps and it is fantastic that he is already so enthusiastic!
Kate
